Shared software and product-development resources
A single group can coordinate phone, home, AI, retail and vehicle teams. The potential benefits are consistent identity, faster feature handoff and more ways to test connected experiences. The risk is complexity: car software has longer safety, validation and support cycles than consumer electronics.
Control of the retail and service relationship
Xiaomi had 490 smart-EV sales centers across 143 mainland Chinese cities at the end of Q1 2026. The app, store, delivery and service network can use an existing brand account and customer relationship. But store count is not a substitute for independent evidence about repair time, parts availability or owner satisfaction.
What the smart cabin can do
Official Xiaomi material describes phone apps pinned to the vehicle screen, compatible smart-home devices discovered and controlled from the car, app and account continuity, and expansion points for vehicle accessories.
