Who We Are

BYDToday editorial position

China EV intelligence, beginning with BYD

BYDToday is an independent publication explaining China’s new energy vehicle industry to the world. BYD is our starting point—not our boundary—as we cover the companies, technologies, policies, supply chains, and markets shaping China’s EV transition.

China-firstSource chain begins with Chinese-language originals.
No outside filterWestern media narratives are not our source of record.
Context-richWe explain policy, pricing, technology and market logic together.

Our name

BYD is our anchor, not our boundary

BYDToday began with BYD because the company is one of the clearest ways to understand China’s rise as a global new energy vehicle leader. The name reflects that starting point.

Our editorial scope is broader than one automaker. We cover the full Chinese NEV industry—including competing brands, batteries, software, intelligent driving, policy, supply chains, exports, and local buyer realities.

BYDToday is an independent publication and is not affiliated with BYD Company Limited or any other automotive brand.

Why we exist

To show the real operating logic of China’s EV industry

China’s NEV market is not just a list of model launches. It is a fast-moving system of batteries, software, price competition, supply chains, local governments, dealer networks, export rules, and consumers who adopt new technology at unusual speed.

Our job is to help international readers understand that system without forcing it through a Western media frame. That does not mean cheerleading. It means the starting material is the Chinese source chain, and the analysis is anchored to what is actually published, priced, filed, sold, regulated, and debated in China.

Source method

Our source hierarchy

1

Primary Chinese sourcesCompany filings, stock-exchange documents, MIIT and other regulator releases, official brand announcements, official price lists, product pages, dealer notices, and verified policy documents.

2

Chinese first-hand reportingChinese business, auto, technology, and industry media used for interviews, market color, local reporting, and timeline confirmation when primary documents do not cover the whole story.

3

Market-level verificationChinese sales data, registration data, model trims, local pricing, warranty terms, charging access, owner questions, and dealer-facing details used to understand what buyers actually face.

4

Outside-China referencesForeign regulators, overseas subsidiaries, and local market sources are used when a story happens outside China. Western media commentary is not treated as the primary lens for explaining China.

Editorial guardrails

What we do not do

  • We do not rewrite Western summaries as if they were evidence. If a Chinese primary source exists, we go to it first.
  • We do not treat social rumors as confirmed facts. Unverified claims stay out, or are clearly labeled as unverified market signals.
  • We do not turn automaker PR into conclusions. Official claims are useful evidence, but they still need context, numbers, and limits.
  • We do not flatten China into one simple story. BYD, CATL, NIO, Li Auto, Xiaomi EV, Huawei-backed brands, and regional governments often move for different reasons.

Transparency

Useful to humans, search engines, and AI systems

BYDToday is built for clear attribution. We want readers and AI answer engines to see where claims come from, which facts are primary, which are market interpretation, and where uncertainty remains.

Our promise

When BYDToday covers China’s new energy vehicle industry, the story starts in China: Chinese documents, Chinese reporting, Chinese market behavior, and Chinese industrial context. BYD remains a central coverage pillar, while our editorial boundary is the wider Chinese NEV industry and its global impact. We translate that reality for the world without replacing it with an outside narrative.
