Six LiDARs Form a 360-Degree Perception Dome
The refreshed AITO M9 officially launched on May 27, 2026, with prices starting at 479,800 yuan for the standard version and reaching up to 669,800 yuan for the Ultimate Extended Wheelbase variant. The most striking upgrade is the sensor suite: six solid-state LiDAR units positioned around the vehicle (one forward-facing 896-line unit on the roof, one interior cabin sensor, one in the front grille, two on the sides, and one at the rear), supplemented by five 4D millimeter-wave radars, 12 cameras, and 16 ultrasonic sensors. The standard M9 now measures 5,285 mm in length (up 55 mm), 2,026 mm in width (up 27 mm), and 1,845 mm in height (up 45 mm), with a 3,125 mm wheelbase (up 15 mm). The Ultimate Extended Wheelbase variant stretches to 5,402 mm with a 3,236 mm wheelbase, dimensions that exceed the Rolls-Royce Cullinan (5,341 x 2,000 x 1,837 mm, 3,295 mm wheelbase) in length and width. According to reporting by Sina Auto, over 40% of pre-order customers selected the Ultimate Extended variant, indicating strong demand for the stretched flagship. Both variants feature the Xuanwu Body Architecture 2.0 with a ‘thirteen-cross, eleven-longitudinal’ structure. High-strength steel and aluminum account for 91% of the body, with 2200 MPa hot-stamped steel at ten critical points. The vehicle is equipped with 13 airbags and an AI-adaptive protection system.
Range, Charging, and Powertrain Options
The M9 is offered in both EREV (extended-range) and pure electric configurations. The EREV version features a 60 kWh or 75 kWh battery with a combined range of up to 1,474 km. The pure electric variant carries a 120 kWh battery delivering a CLTC range projected to exceed 650 km. Both versions support 800V fast charging, adding 300 km of range in 10 minutes, with a full 10-80% charge in 25 minutes. V2L and V2H external discharge are supported. Per CAAM reporting, Huawei’s DATS (Dynamic Adaptive Torque System) manages torque distribution across all wheels.
HarmonyOS Cockpit 4.0 and Cinema Experience
The interior features HarmonyOS Cockpit 4.0 with dual 17.2-inch 3.4K displays, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and AR-HUD. The rear cabin offers a 32-inch retractable projection screen and HUAWEI SOUND with up to 43 speakers in the Ultimate variant. The 5-seat version can be optioned with zero-gravity seat packages, while the 6-seat version offers ‘equal-rights first-class seating’ for all three rows.
