In China, assisted-driving features operate in a dense regulatory environment and are compared directly with local urban-NOA systems from Huawei-backed brands, XPeng, Li Auto, Xiaomi, and others.

Local Rivals Have a Head Start in Urban NOA
Tesla also faces a market where domestic brands already sell city-level navigation-assisted driving as a core feature. Huawei’s ADS stack, XPeng’s XNGP, Li Auto’s AD Max, and other systems have trained buyers to expect rapid local-road coverage. Tesla’s advantage is global software reputation; its challenge is local deployment speed.
The Real Test Is Scale, Not Announcement Timing
