Three Powertrain Variants: 800 km, 850 km, and 950 km
BYD opened pre-orders for the DaTang EV at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show in late April, with pricing set between 250,000 and 320,000 yuan across three variants. The 800 km rear-drive version starts at 250,000 yuan, while the 950 km rear-drive and 850 km all-wheel-drive versions occupy higher price tiers. Technology: Yun-C Suspension and God’s Eye 5.0
The DaTang EV features BYD’s Yun-C intelligent body control system with dual-chamber air suspension and road preview technology. The intelligent driving system runs on God’s Eye 5.0 (Tian Shen Zhi Yan), supporting both urban and highway NOA. Specific sensor hardware including LiDAR configurations has not been fully disclosed. Per the official Beijing Auto Show presentation, the DaTang EV’s interior includes a full LCD instrument panel, a floating center screen, a front passenger entertainment screen, and a HUD head-up display. The audio system is a 27-speaker Devialet setup.
BYD’s Dynasty Lineup Expansion Strategy
The DaTang EV represents BYD’s strategy of moving the Dynasty brand upmarket. While the Ocean Network targets younger buyers with models like the Seal and Dolphin, the Dynasty Network increasingly occupies the premium family segment. According to a report by Yiche, BYD plans to launch approximately 10 new models across all sub-brands in 2026, with the DaTang serving as the Dynasty Network’s flagship. The vehicle’s 950 km range in particular challenges extended-range competitors by offering comparable total range without the complexity of a combustion engine.
