The GX: XPeng’s Most Ambitious Vehicle Yet
XPeng’s GX full-size flagship SUV has officially launched in the Chinese market, priced from 279,800 yuan ($38,600). The three-row vehicle — offered in six and seven-seat configurations — represents XPeng’s most aggressive push yet into the premium family SUV segment. The GX spans over 5.1 meters in length and features XPeng’s second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) intelligent driving system alongside an 800V 5C super-fast charging architecture.
The powertrain options include both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, with the top-performance version delivering 577 horsepower.
XPeng’s 2026 SUV Blitz
The GX is the centerpiece of a broader SUV offensive that will define XPeng’s 2026. According to Gasgoo Research Institute, XPeng will launch multiple new SUV models covering compact to full-size segments. Two MONA-series SUVs will bring XPeng’s intelligent driving technology to more accessible price points.
Gasgoo projects that XPeng’s 2026 annual sales could reach 550,000 to 600,000 units, up significantly from 429,000 in 2025. To support this growth, XPeng is deepening its partnership with Volkswagen for full-stack collaboration.
From Chinese EV Maker to Global AI Mobility Company
XPeng’s ambitions extend well beyond being a successful Chinese automaker. The company is positioning itself as a “physical AI mobility company,” with automobiles as its primary business and flying cars and humanoid robots as second and third growth curves.
XPeng’s self-developed Turing chip — the world’s first multi-domain universal AI chip — delivers 750 TOPS of computing power. The company has also announced that its second-generation VLA technology will be open-sourced globally, with Volkswagen as the first external customer.
